Fun Links of the Week

What are you up to this weekend? I’m taking a half day today because I’m coloring and cutting my hair. Going back to metallic pink (or rose gold) and then taking some inches off the bottom. Here’s what I’m going for.

Now let’s get into the fun links of the week.

Can’t get enough of millenial pink. In fact, this is how I’d like to decorate my office.

These red fringe sandals just seem fun.

French door showers? Yes, please!

It would be enlightening to take this class: USC Annenberg’s Improvisational Leadership. (Would definitely kick me out of my comfort zone.)

If I ever get to build my own house, I’m putting this in it.

Can you imagine if this was the future? How cool.

As decorations, I just want to keep these hand-painted planetary push pins on my desk.

White bag, rainbow strap. Just my style.

Visit the New York Botanical Garden right now for an art show you’ll never forget.

Families with babies and toddlers who we need their naps, this could be a godsend.

This museum looks like it was made for Instagrammers. Tickets are sold out through May but you can scoop some up for June and July.

Chance the Rapper, Muse, Lorde, Kaskade. Vegas, anyone?

“What I’ve found is more important to me is living true to my authentic self, understanding what really motivates me, and knowing that comparison really is the killer of joy.” 5 Habits R29’s Creative Director Swears By.

Can Pharrell influence men to wear fashionable bags?

This new tv series looks relevant and interesting.

I wish I could see this stained glass mural myself.

Masterpiece Paintings Become Beautiful Wallpaper Murals

For all you classic art lovers out there, Murals Wallpaper just came out with a new series of wallpaper. They’ve taken some of our favorite paintings, like Van Gough’s Starry Night and Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, and turned them into murals! How great would it be to wake up each morning and see your favorite art across a whole wall? The bedroom would be perfect for Starry Night and the dining area would look spectacular with The Kiss.

From their website: “Featuring works by celebrated artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Charles Seurat and Claude Monet, this elegant Murals Wallpaper collection lets you bring home your favourite gallery-worthy piece and get creative with a wall in any modern bedroom, dining room or study.

“The murals, sold by Murals Wallpaper, utilise modern digital printing techniques that capture each brushstroke in HD on the highest quality, textured paper. The prints can be hung just like normal wallpaper, but allow for a much bigger impact.”

10 Bold Examples of Statement Jewelry

Lately, I’ve been seeing this trend: statement jewelry. Forget the dainty earrings, go for something bold. I love jewelry with a lot of pizzazz, so today, I’m picking out 10 pieces I’d love to scoop up myself. Best thing about statement jewelry is that you can keep the rest of your outfit minimal, you just let the jewelry do all the talking.

Fun Links of the Week

How was your week? What are you up to this weekend? I’m hanging with my sisters in Carlsbad. We’re going to hit up the beach up and then visit Legoland. Can’t wait for sister time!

And now, I present to you, the Fun Links of the Week.

Don’t we all have that inner voice that says, “You can’t”? This is touching.

Growing up with siblings is like…(you must click this, it is HILARIOUS!)

I’d love to hang this picture inside my house. It’s so beautifully surreal.

When we move into a new house, I would be interested in working with one of these e-design companies.

This graphic, ice cream t-shirt is cool.

Can you believe that this is a chair?

This designer makes incredibly beautiful, modern objects of wood. I love his lamps.

A hotel built atop a lava flow? Wild!

If I ever go back to New Zealand (maybe with the kids!), I’d love to stay here.

Love this gray moto jacket. (Read about the company making it here.)

This shoe looks like it was inspired by angels.

I love the color red. Here are some ways you can incorporate the bold color in your house.

At first I was like, high top sneakers designed by Missoni? And then I saw this. Want!

Want to carry my groceries in these bags.

Powerful New Print Shows Hijab Decorated with Flowers

I like this new print that Icy & Sot created to aid the programs in Haiti and Braddock, Pennsylvania. The Iranian brothers wanted to challenge conventions with this personal and political statement. A woman is covered with a hijab, but instead of hiding her, it’s calling attention to her, with the help of spring flowers. Called Unforced Hijab, this is a limited edition print (to 250) that’s 13 x 19 inches. It makes you think.

Icy & Sot: “Unforced Hijab depicts that the Hijab can be a beautiful thing for someone if it’s not forced.”

Fun Links of the Week

Logan got super sick last night, he spiked a 102.3 fever and he has a bad sore throat so I’m going to be staying at home with him for the next few days. No posts from me until Monday. This week, I’ve been collecting a few fun links though, so I thought I’d share them with you.

Do you think you could swim in this crazy pool? That view!

Domino rounds up the best design blogs of 2017.

As a parent, this video is what I needed to see today.

Fortune just came out with a list of the 30 top influencers who are making a killing on social media. (Yay for Bri Emery at Design Love Fest.)

Loving this 60’s trend that’s back.

I’m excited about this new fashion book. Lots of great eye candy.

I can’t help but like her. She just seems so real.

Currently loving the mirrored sunglasses look.

How cute is this cat crossover bag?

See you next week!
