How cute are these mugs by Beardbangs? I found these on Miss Moss’ blog post titled Goodies No. 28. Love the clever use of the handles. Though a little pricey, at about $30 each, see it as something you’d use every day, especially if you drink coffee.
The ceramics are made in Montreal, Canada.
“Each piece is thrown on the potter’s wheel with white, stoneware clay that is sourced in North America. The pieces are then decorated with colourful engobes (tinted, liquid clay) and/or deep black underglaze. The pieces are fired to about 1950°f, then coated in transparent glaze, then fired again to about 2200f°. This process makes the pieces dishwasher and microwave safe, and non-toxic as always.
“Each piece is handmade, so your order will look like the one in the photo with its own touch of uniqueness.”
Artist Richard Saunders takes our love for cats and combines it with the art of topiary to create this fun series The Topiary Cat. Inspired by Tolly, his Russian Blue Cat, Saunders makes photo montages of of huge topiary kittens lying in fields, on beaches or in gardens. Some of his photos seem so real that they’ve been viewed millions of times and shared over fifty thousand times. The Topiary Cat is so popular, in fact, that it has its own website and Facebook page. How cool would it be if these were real?
